The one-liner
Crsp is a Canadian app that turns the day’s news into a 3-minute brief: every story summarized to sixty words from 60+ trusted sources, machine-checked for accuracy, with no account, no tracking, and a feed that tells you when you’re done.
Fact sheet
Three story angles that are actually true
- The C-18 story.Facebook and Instagram have blocked news for Canadians since August 2023, and in 2026 social media still overtook TV as Canadians’ #1 news source. A Canadian solo founder built a news app for exactly that broken landscape. Our explainer.
- The trust story.Trust in news hit 37% in Canada this year, the lowest ever recorded, and 45% of Canadians actively avoid news (Reuters Institute Digital News Report 2026). Crsp’s bet: the fix is not more content, it is less, verified, with sources one tap away.
- The engineering story.“AI news” usually means hallucinations. Crsp runs its summarizer inside a pipeline of deterministic gates that verify every name and number against the source and reject roughly one card in ten rather than pad it. The whole design is public at getcrsp.ca/how-it-works.
Founder, briefly
Crsp is built by Udit Jain, a solo founder in Ontario. The product came from a personal problem: wanting to stay informed without giving a feed an hour a day. Interviews and background: email above.
