What Crsp Is
Crsp is a free, ad-free Canadian news aggregator. We summarize publicly available news articles into ~60-word cards so you can stay informed quickly. The app is launching on iOS and Android.
Data We Collect (Once the App Launches)
- Anonymous fingerprint — A random ID stored on your device to remember your reactions. It is never linked to your identity.
- Reactions — When you upvote or downvote an article, we store the reaction alongside your anonymous fingerprint.
- Poll votes — When you vote on an article poll, we store your choice alongside your anonymous fingerprint.
- Bookmarks — Saved articles are stored entirely on your device. We never see or store your bookmarks.
- Theme preference — Your light/dark mode choice is stored locally.
AI & Third-Party Services
- Google Gemini — Crsp uses Google Gemini to generate article summaries, Deep Dive analysis, and to answer your questions in the Ask Anything feature. When you use Deep Dive or Ask Anything, article summaries and your questions are sent to Google for processing. Google does not store your questions beyond processing.
- Supabase— Our database provider, used to store articles and anonymous reactions. Subject to Supabase's privacy policy.
- Unsplash— Some article images are sourced from Unsplash when the original source does not provide one. Subject to Unsplash's terms.
Data We Don't Collect
- No account creation or login required
- No email addresses, names, or personal information
- No location tracking
- No cookies or scripts for advertising or analytics
- No third-party tracking
News Content
Crsp aggregates news from publicly available RSS feeds. We generate AI summaries from RSS-provided content only — we do not scrape or store full article text. Every article links back to the original source.
Your Rights
Since we don't collect personal data, there is nothing to delete or export. Your anonymous fingerprint and bookmarks live on your device — clearing app data resets them.
Changes
We may update this policy. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
